Bio
Oberon Rose is the songwriting duo of Tommy Oberon and Rebecca Rose. Tommy writes the music, and Rebecca pens the lyrics.
Amy Lame of BBC 6 calls the duo a “a dynamic combination of folk, country, blues, glam rock and classic pop” and Lee Zimmerman from Goldmine Magazine says their sound is “rocking, robust and decidedly their own”.
The journey of Oberon Rose began in NYC. Both Tommy and Rebecca were involved in the underground NYC artist scene. Tommy was playing in bands and interning in recording studios. Rebecca was part of an artist collective.
It wasn’t long before the duo wrote their first song together. “Young Goodman Brown” became the opening track for Oberon Rose’s self-produced debut album called ‘One Divine Day’.
Several self-produced self-studio albums followed suit. With each album, Tommy focused on honing his engineering and production skills.
Tommy is not just a songwriter, but serves as the engineer and producer for Oberon Rose.
“Recording and producing on a DIY budget can be challenging. It definitely requires a creative approach. My goal is to keep the recording process simple and within budget, without sacrificing sound.”
Oberon Rose’s in-house and underground approach to both writing and recording has enabled the outfit to produce four studio albums of original material, with each album receiving high-profile US and UK radio play.
Oberon Rose is about to add a fifth studio album to their discography. ‘The Sun Stood Still’ will be released on August 8th, 2025 on Oberon Rose’s own imprint, ThouART Records.
