Bio

Oberon Rose is the uncompromising songwriting partnership of multi-instrumentalist/producer Tommy Oberon and lyricist Rebecca Rose. Operating out of their independent imprint, ThouART Records, the duo masterfully fuses elements of vintage garage rock, psych-rock, power-pop, and classic British Invasion melodies into a widescreen sound that is both deeply nostalgic and unmistakably their own.

The band’s distinctive sonic identity has captured the attention of premier international tastemakers. BBC 6 Music’s Amy Lamé champions the band as "a dynamic combination," while legendary roots-music journal No Depression calls their work "a psychedelic musical experience with theatrical brilliance." Rock critic Lee Zimmerman of Goldmine Magazine echoes the praise, declaring their output "rocking, robust, and decidedly their own."

The foundation of Oberon Rose’s chemistry lies in a strict, classic division of labor: Tommy composes the music, handles the tracking, and steers the production, while Rebecca crafts the vivid, narrative lyricism. Their creative partnership traces back to the underground New York City art scene, where Tommy cut his teeth interning in professional studios to absorb audio engineering, and Rebecca honed her voice within experimental theater collectives.

Driven by an independent, hands-on ethos, the duo shapes their music entirely in-house. "Recording and producing on a DIY budget requires a highly creative approach," Tommy explains. "My goal is always to keep the production chain simple, capturing a raw performance without sacrificing premium studio fidelity."

That fierce dedication to craftsmanship has fueled a prolific, self-contained discography. Following a string of critically acclaimed independent albums that steadily built a loyal cult following across the US and the UK, the band cemented their status with their landmark fifth studio album, The Sun Stood Still. Released via ThouART Records, the record broke into the Top 25 on the Submodern Album Chart, earned Top 5 Climber status on the National Alternative College Chart (NACC), and climbed all the way to #1 on NPR member station WBJB 90.5 FM.

By maintaining 100% artistic control over their catalog, Oberon Rose stands as a testament to the power of independent vision—delivering a deep, enduring discography built on rich textures, infectious hooks, and timeless rock-and-roll architecture.
