The Sun Stood Still

Oberon Rose Release New Album "The Sun Stood Still"

Oberon Rose are set to release their 5th studio album on August 8th.

The Nashville-based songwriting duo consists of Tommy Oberon and Rebecca Rose. Tommy writes the music and Rebecca pens the lyrics.

Oberon Rose’s sound has been called “a dynamic combination of folk, country, blues, glam rock and classic pop” by BBC 6 presenter Amy Lame.

Lee Zimmerman from Goldmine Magazine calls their sound “rocking, robust and decidedly their own”.

With the album “The Sun Stood Still”, Oberon Rose continues to create a sound that is unique and inviting.

“When we started work on this record, I knew I wanted to create an album that had a sound that was all its own, while keeping the integrity of the songwriting,” explains Tommy.

Lush melodies, rich backing vocals and guitars - both lyrical and raw-makes the sound of “The Sun Stood Still” stand out.

“We wanted the sound of this album to build on the sound of our last record, ‘Purple, Blue & Crimson’, but to be more intense. I like to think we achieved that,” adds Rebecca.

With the backbone of Oberon Rose being the songwriting, the songs on “The Sun Stood Still” were written to stand out.

The album consists of 8 songs written by Tommy and Rebecca, and an instrumental written by Tommy.

“I believe this is our most emotional album yet. That’s partly why we wanted the sound to be more intense, to reflect the intensity of the songs.”Tommy adds.

The songs explore the timeless themes of isolation, loss, struggle, heartbreak, redemption and salvation. “The Sun Stood Still” is an album created for listeners to lose themselves in, so they can find themselves.
